Castlegate is changing. The markets are closed. Soon they’ll be demolished to make way for a new city quarter. Academics from the School of Architecture, Yorkshire Artspace and artists will be working with the people who live and work there to find out how they’re affected by this change.

Carolyn Butterworth is an architect and teacher who works with communities to design better places to live. Carolyn and her academic colleague Leo Care worked with artists Simon Le Ruez, Anne-Marie Atkinson, Clare McCormak and Rachael Dodd from Yorkshire Artspace to collaborate with the people of Castlegate and wider public on this project.
