We asked children at Hillcrest Academy, Leeds Young Authors, and visitors to our project space to write words they associate with Chapeltown, and this is the result!

I typed the words exactly as they were written, some of the spellings are unusual but I think it’s more interesting to include the authentic voice and dialect of the children, rather than ‘correct’ them or make assumptions about their meaning. It’s clear to see which words and notions were felt by everyone!
